Amarcord / Furniture Design

Proposal design of a cabinet for Riva Prize.

Amarcord is a neologism created after the homonymous and famous film by Federico Fellini, born from the phrase "a m'arcord" (I remember), and so reference to tradition of artisan wooden furniture and the Italian savoir-faire in marquetry.

The design meets the Italian high quality wood furniture production with a touch of modernity and cleanliness, which characterizes the style of Riva. Starting from the idea of the marquetry, the Amarcord sideboard emphasizes solid wood as a decorative element thanks to the creation of differentiated patterns. The effect is obtained through the alternation and play of the direction of the wood grain, arranged to create a decorative triangular pattern.
